Imagine you are 15 years old. You are coping with the pressures of high school, excited for the possibility of getting your driver’s license, and dreaming of what you want to be when you grow up. Life is full of endless possibilities…

This was life for Dalton, until December 2015, when he was diagnosed with brain cancer. His family’s world was shaken. A child with infinite potential now had to cope with radiation, chemotherapy, hair loss, and surgery all at the young age of 15. Moreover, they had to travel two hours each way to St. Louis while missing school and work, every week for six weeks to receive medical treatment. The stress of Dalton’s diagnosis, along with the costs of treatment and travel, were overwhelming.

In this traumatic situation, where would YOU turn for help?

HavenHouse was the answer to all of their needs - cozy and inviting private bedrooms, meals to keep him strong, transportation back and forth to the hospital each day, and caring, supportive staff available around-the-clock.

We are so happy to report that Dalton is in remission.  Once again, he can focus on his favorite things, like racing go carts, listening to music and playing basketball. Maybe he will be a race car driver when he grows up…

Dalton’s grandmother says, “I just wanted to say how grateful we are to you people. Without HavenHouse we would not have been able to afford to do his treatments in St. Louis. It was such a wonderful stay, staying at HavenHouse. Everyone was so nice and respectful! I could not ask for a better place to stay.
