On November 5, 2017, a 22 person brigade of ENT doctors, anesthesia providers, nurses, medical students, and audiologists will depart from the United States will travel to the rural city of Catacamas, Honduras. Catacamas is a community of approximately 40,000 people located in the Honduran Department of Olancho. The local population is served by a modern Catholic hospital, Hospital Santos Hermano Pedro. The hospital is managed by the government of Honduras. There is a severe shortage of specialty physicians in Olancho. The ENT brigade will work at the hospital for five days performing outpatient clinic evaluations, surgical procedures, audiological testing, and fitting of hearing aids. Please consider donating to this brigade that is bringing ENT medical and surgical treatment to a community that otherwise will go untreated.
Our mission is fortunate to continue our Soccer Outreach Program. The mission provides quality soccer coaching and donated soccer equipment (balls, shoes, cones, nets) to many small communities in the Department of Olancho. This effort is spear headed by the Scott Gallagher St. Louis Soccer Club.
Risk & Challenges
This medical mission has been developed under the sponsorship of the International Medical Assistance Foundation, St. Louis, MO. The brigade members are all volunteers who work together throughout the year to collect needed medical supplies. The members willingly use their limited work vacation time to participate on the mission. The mission is funded through the generous benevolence of our donors, large and small. All donations are used to defray the expenses of the mission with no funds spent on administration.
