The St. Louis Community Foundation assembled a coalition of local influential organizations to create the COVID-19 Regional Response Fund, which will direct resources to regional nonprofits that are serving local communities disproportionately affected by the coronavirus crisis and its economic fallout.

Modeled after a similar effort undertaken by the Seattle Foundation, this initiative is the fastest, most efficient way to get funds to the local nonprofits serving the people most affected.

Distribution of Funds

An Advisory Council, which includes representatives from the areas of public health, government, and the community, is quickly organizing and will be making initial grants to known organizations addressing priority needs with the broadest impact. As the Fund grows, competitive grantmaking will be implemented.

The needs of the community and our nonprofits will change throughout the crisis. The Advisory Council will work to consider needs today, a month from now, and during the recovery period. The early weeks of the shutdown within the region are of the highest priority.
