World Food Day is a worldwide event designed to increase awareness, understanding and informed year-round action to alleviate hunger. It is observed every October in recognition of the establishment of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 1945.

Each year in October, St. Louis World Food Day, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, organizes a food packaging event in the Field House at John Burroughs School.  Over the past four years, thousands of St. Louisans of all ages, from all walks of life, have joined together in service to help feed hungry people living in need in local and international communities.   Over 1.3 million meals have been assembled and distributed locally and internationally by our partners, The St. Louis Area Foodbank and the Outreach Program of Union, IA , respectively.

Over the last four years, packagers at the annual St. Louis World Food Day event have helped assemble more than 1.3 million meals! Check out photos of participants in action as some of our past events!
