For generations, Tower Grove Park has provided the respite of nature, and served as common ground for our community. Tower Grove Park has given so many of us cherished memories, but today - your park needs you.
During a time when other recreational spaces have been closed due to COVID-19, we have worked hard to keep Tower Grove Park a safe and open space for all. We postponed or canceled many revenue-generating events to ensure our guests’ safety. We retained all our full-time staff to continue to empty the trash receptacles, mow the grass, plant the display beds, and make the park a safe, inclusive space.
All of these efforts were carried out so that during the many closures of COVID-19, the park could continue to be a place for you. We have seen our community utilize the park as a lifeline during this very difficult time, and we are so glad that our space has been used for much needed respite and recreation.
After losing $130,000 in earned revenue due to Coronavirus-related shutdowns, we’re left with a significant budget shortfall to makeup. Luckily, we a have a committed group of supporters, including the Caroline Loughlin Fund and the park’s Board of Commissioners, who have stepped up to offer a $50,000 matching challenge.
That means your gift to Tower Grove Park will make twice the impact - and that impact matters a lot!
In addition to the park space provided, we’ve worked for years to bring you events that would enrich our community and promote the diversity and inclusiveness felt in our park and surrounding neighborhoods. From the Festival of Nations and Tower Grove Pride to Food Truck Fridays and Taste of Black St. Louis, our park has always hosted events encouraging cultural exchange in St. Louis.
Right now, we need your help to continue operating the park and ensure that the events that bring our community closer together can return as soon as possible.
We are calling on the community to whom this park is so dear for support - Please give today to support the recovery efforts of Tower Grove Park.
Generation after generation, families like yours have walked our trails and picnicked on our fields. For hundreds of years, this space has been stewarded and passed along as a legacy - now it’s your turn.
So, if you’re a park person, please consider a donation. All donations over $50 come with an annual membership! Your support during this challenging time ensures that this priceless and inclusive space is always available to our community.
